UN Security Council emergency meeting on the situation in the Gaza Strip will be held on May 15

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) –┬áMembers of the UN Security Council will discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday at the initiative of Kuwait, a source at the UN headquarters told Interfax.

According to him, the emergency meeting of the UN Security Council is scheduled for May 15 at 10:00 am New York time.

Earlier, the Times of Israel, referring to the Palestinian calculations, reported that the number of victims of the riots on the border between the Gaza Strip and Israel increased to 52 on Monday. According to her, over 1.2 thousand people were injured.

It is noted that all the dead and injured are members of an anti-Israeli rally organized by the Palestinians.

On May 15, the Palestinians celebrate the Nakba Day or the “Day of Catastrophe” in connection with the founding of the State of Israel on May 14, 1948, which led to massive evictions of Arabs from Israeli territory.
