United Nations: Syria has become a death trap for civilians

UNITED NATIONS (OBSERVATORY) –┬áThe activities of the conference in support of Syria and the region are being held in Brussels, Belgium, in the presence of many countries and international organizations.

The United Nations stresses that nearly $ 8 billion is needed to support Syrians within their own country and refugees in neighboring countries.

“The humanitarian situation in Syria is deteriorating and two-thirds of the population is in need of assistance,” said WFP Director of WFP World Food Program Jakob Kern.

UN officials say Syria has become a death trap for civilians who can no longer escape fighting and shelling because neighboring countries tighten their border controls.
