UN Human Rights Council holds a session on Israeli violence

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) –┬áThe 47-nation UN Human Rights Council will hold a special session on Friday to discuss the deteriorating human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory, the United Nations said on Tuesday.

“The special session will be held at the request of the official Palestine and the United Arab Emirates on behalf of the Arab Group and supported by 26 countries so far,” the UN Office for Human Rights said in a statement.

This is the first special session of the Human Rights Council since it discussed the situation in Myanmar in December 2017.
