EU agreed to intensify ties with Iran in the economic sphere

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) –┬áThe EU countries and Iran agreed to intensify contacts at all levels to develop economic ties and initiated expert consultations, the head of the EU diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, reported on the results of the talks in Brussels on the CAP.

“We expressed regret over the US decision to withdraw from the SVAP and recognized that lifting the sanctions related to the nuclear program and normalizing trade and economic relations with Iran are the main part of the agreement,” she said.

“We agreed to deepen our dialogue at all levels.Our experts have already started to work.We agreed to begin intensive expert consultations, which, as I said, began today, with Iran, in order to reach practical solutions in the next few weeks,” said Magerini.

She said that the matter concerns the maintenance and deepening of economic ties with Iran, the continuation of trade in oil and gas, oil products, effective banking transactions, the continuation of contacts with Iran in the field of aviation, sea and land transport, as well as granting export credits.
