US accused China of stealing F-35 airplane technology

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — White House National Security Advisor John Bolton accused China of stealing the technology of an American F-35 multirole aircraft for its fifth generation fighter.

“We see the fifth-generation Chinese fighter looks a lot like the F-35. Because this is the F-35. By and large, they just stole it,” said Mr. Bolton.

The White House National Security Advisor arrived on a visit to Ukraine. This is John Bolton’s first trip to Kiev after the election of Vladimir Zelensky as the country’s president.

Earlier in the media there was information that the American side was interested in preventing the Chinese company from buying the Ukrainian Motor Sich aircraft engine factory. The sale of the enterprise, as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of engines for aviation, according to the American side, will increase China’s defense capabilities several times.

According to sources in The Wall Street Journal, a possible Ukrainian-Chinese deal was to become one of the main topics of the meeting between Mr. Zelensky and Mr. Bolton in Kiev.
