US Air Force bomber makes a long flight near the Russian border

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — US Air Force Strategic Bomber B-52H Stratofortress, capable of carrying nuclear weapons, performed a long flight near the borders of Russia in the Pacific Ocean, follows from the monitoring data of Western aviation resources.

According to them, the American bomber, flying from Andersen air base on the island of Guam in the western Pacific Ocean, flew along the Kuril Islands and near Kamchatka. To ensure the duration of the flight, he was accompanied by the US Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker tanker.

It was reported that on August 28, the United States deployed three strategic B-2 Spirit bombers, also capable of carrying nuclear weapons, to the Fairford base in the UK.

Over the past days, they have conducted a series of training flights over England, Scotland, as well as over the Norwegian Sea. One American strategist, B-2 Spirit, first flew to Iceland with a short landing for refueling at Keflavik air base, after which he returned to England. Another bomber made the same flight from Fairford Air Base to the Portuguese Azores in the Atlantic and vice versa.

On September 5, one U.S. Air Force B-52H Stratofortress bomber also arrived at the Fairford Air Base, which is regularly used to deploy strategic air forces to the US Air Force in Europe .

In March 2019, the U.S. Air Force temporarily deployed six B-52H strategic bombers to the United Kingdom immediately. They made a series of training flights near the borders of Russia in the Baltic region.
