UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – In a bid to blur Damascus and the Kurds, the US special services and Daesh are preparing a new provocation to chemical weapons, this time in the Syrian city of Al-Tanf, says the head of the Syrian Network for Human Rights.
The US special services are preparing a chemical weapons provocation in Al-Tanf, Syria, with the aim of burning the last bridges between the Kurds and Damascus, Ahmed Kazem, head of the Syrian Network for Human Rights, told Sputnik.
“Currently, the preparation of a provocation similar to that which took place in Duma is led by the special services in coordination with Daesh. Kurds – women and children – are prepared for this staging,” he said in a commentary to Sputnik.
It warns that the actual use of chemical weapons as part of this provocation is possible.
And to emphasize that the risk of provocation was very high. “To confront the Kurds and the Syrian army and to [cause, ed] a new strike in Syria becomes an objective,” added the interlocutor of the agency.
Recall that the spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Igor Konashenkov, said last Monday that, according to information obtained through several channels, the Free Syrian Army, supported by the US Special Forces, was preparing a provocation with the use of chemical weapons in the province of Deir ez-Zor, Syria.
Also for the record, following the April 4 chemical spill in the Syrian city of Douma (Eastern Ghouta), the United States, France and the United Kingdom carried out missile strikes on Syrian sites, without wait for the OPCW investigation to be conducted, that is without having any hard evidence of Damascus’s responsibility.
In their conclusions, these countries relied on videos published on sites and social networks loyal to the armed opposition.
