US declared Russia and China the main threat to national security

The main threat to the United States is China and Russia, said Robert O’Brien, adviser to the President of the United States on national security, in an interview with Axios.

“The two biggest threats to America in accordance with the national defense strategy come from equal competitors – China and Russia,” said O’Brien and emphasized that “the United States has never faced such an equal rival as China.”

O’Brien substantiated his conclusion with the population of China, the Chinese political system, as well as the Chinese “world ambitions and the clear goal of dominating world trade and the economy.” Therefore, “China must be taken very seriously.”

“We must be strong enough so that no one dares to challenge us militarily, including China,” O’Brien emphasized.
