US estimates loss of Iran from oil sanctions at $ 50 billion

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — The US estimates Iran’s losses from oil sanctions at $ 50 billion, Brian Hook, Iran’s State Department special envoy, said.

“Our oil sanctions alone are depriving the regime of $ 50 billion,” said Hook, speaking in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. He did not indicate how long Iran lost these funds.

The United States withdrew from the international community’s agreement with Iran on the atom and reintroduced the sanctions lifted under this agreement. The United States is pushing the countries of the world to not import oil from Iran.
