US general warns Iran against retaliation

US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — Iran and the Kataib Hezbollah group should better refrain from actions that could harm US forces or their allies, said Kenneth Mackenzie, head of the United States Central Command.

The Americans are ready to respond to any aggression in the region, the military leader added.

Earlier, 15 missiles were fired at the Taji military base, where US units are located. Three servicemen became victims of the attack, another twelve were injured.

The U.S. military’s response was an airstrike on targets in Iraq belonging to the Kataib Hezbollah group. Six raiders of the Iraqi Security Service died during the raid.

According to Mackenzie, the U.S. Air Force struck weapons depots. Moreover, the US military showed restraint, as they could destroy much more targets. Moreover, the United States warned Iraq of the attack. Having the military close to the terrorists is not a good idea, Mackenzie added.

Among other things, the head of the Central Command said that it has become much more difficult for Iran to act in the region after the assassination of General Qassem Suleimani.

As for the installation of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems in Iraq, they will be ready for combat duty in a few days, Kenneth Mackenzie added.
