US lawmakers call on Trump to impose sanctions on Turkey

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — Members of the US House of Representatives have called on President Donald Trump to impose sanctions on Turkey for buying the Russian S400 system.

According to a statement issued by the House Foreign Relations Committee, members of the House of Representatives appealed to Trump, to impose sanctions on Turkey in accordance with US laws.

The statement added that Turkey can best achieve its interests through cooperation with the United States of America, not with Russia.

In conjunction with this step, began the second batch of batteries “S400” Russian, to reach the military base in the Turkish capital Ankara, while the first batch arrived in July.
