UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS)

US personnel were not injured in the shelling of the Iraqi air force base “Balad”, where the American contingent is stationed, a spokesman for the US Central Command told RIA.

“None of the coalition’s personnel was hurt,” a Centcom representative answered an inquiry from RIA.

Earlier, a military source in RIA Novosti reported that the Iraqi air base “Balad” in the province of Salah al-Din in the north of the country was attacked on Sunday. According to him, at least five rockets from Katyusha missiles from an unknown source hit the Balad base in the province of Salah al-Din. This led to the wounding of four Iraqi Air Force personnel, two of them officers, the agency’s interlocutor added.
