UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY) — In the United States, priests who were previously accused of sexual abuse of minors continue to work with children.
The published material refers to more than one and a half thousand clergymen, who to this day continue to work in schools, medical institutions and organizations that provide assistance to children.
“They live next to playgrounds and kindergartens. They bring up and care for children, ”says the author of the article.
It is noted that dozens of these people committed crimes after leaving church. The charges against them are very different: from possession of pornography involving children, to inappropriate conversations and violent acts against children.
The publication also notes that some of them continue to show unhealthy interest in children, despite the fact that they are under the supervision of the church and authorities.
At the end of 2018, the Attorney General of the U.S. State of Illinois during its investigation revealed about 700 cases of alleged harassment and sexual abuse of minors by Catholic priests.
