US sanctions compared to coronavirus

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, during a meeting with Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, compared US sanctions with the coronavirus COVID-19 . As the Iranian leader said on Saturday, “US sanctions are like a coronavirus: horror from them exceeds the real effect.”

According to Rouhani, the American policy of restrictions is akin to terror. Iran counts on humanitarian support of the European Union.

In Iran, there are currently 43 infected with a new type of coronavirus. Eight patients died from complications from the disease.

The United States restricted Iran’s oil exports in May 2018 after withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan.
