UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – The US Department of State urged Ukraine to comply with the terms of the International Monetary Fund to receive a tranche, raising gas prices for the population and creating an anti-corruption court.
“Today Acting US Secretary of State John Sullivan met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin and reaffirmed US support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. Sullivan called on Ukraine to redouble its reform efforts and follow the IMF programs by enacting legislation to create an independent anti-corruption court and raising gas tariffs, “State Department spokesman Heather Neuert wrote on Twitter.
At the same time, the parties appealed to Russia with an appeal to fulfill their obligations under the Minsk agreements and to stop the occupation of the Ukrainian Crimea.
Earlier, the IMF said that in Ukraine there is a weakening of the reform efforts of the authorities.
