UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — US President Donald Trump said that American troops withdrawn from Syria will first be sent to other areas, but they will eventually return to the United States.
He said that he did not want any US troops to remain in Syria, but before they returned to the United States, the withdrawn units would be deployed elsewhere, reports Reuters.
Trump also expressed the view that the ceasefire in Syria is still maintained, despite individual clashes.
It was previously reported that a group of US troops was deployed from Syria to Iraq. Before that, an American transport convoy from northern Iraq entered Syria to complete the evacuation of US troops.
Recall that after Turkey announced the start of a military operation in northeast Syria against the Kurds, the United States withdrew troops from this region.
