US, WASHINGTON (NEWS OBSERVATORY) — The U.S. House of Representatives voted in favor of a bill providing for the allocation of 8.3 billion dollars to fight the coronavirus, follows from the vote.

415 congressmen spoke in favor, only two opposed. Further, the document should be submitted to the Senate.

The number of coronavirus victims in the United States rose on Wednesday to 11, of which ten in the state of Washington and one in California. A total of 80 infections have been confirmed throughout the country, most in these two states.

Earlier, President Donald Trump asked Congress to fight $ 2.5 billion in the virus, but lawmakers decided to significantly increase funding.

The President said that the main efforts to combat coronavirus will be made by local authorities at the district level. Funds of 8.5 billion dollars will be provided from the federal budget.

Thus, the total amount of funds that the United States is willing to spend on combating the epidemic will be much higher.
