RUSSIA (OBSERVATORY) – The bad weather that hit Moscow this afternoon left one dead and many injured, including children, the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin said.
The storm that hit the Russian capital this afternoon killed one child and injured at least 12 people, said the mayor of Moscow.
“According to one last assessment, the number of victims of the storm is 12 people. The doctors could not save a child who was in an extremely serious condition. I express my deepest condolences to his parents, “Sergei Sobyanin wrote on his Twitter account.
In turn, the Moscow Health Department reports 17 wounded, 14 of whom have been hospitalized. Two people are in serious condition.
Mr.Sobianine also said that strong winds had uprooted hundreds of trees.
Moscow residents have already published on social networks several images of damaged roofs and cars crushed by trees.
Winds of nearly 70 kilometers per hour, accompanied by heavy rains, also caused delays at Moscow’s airports.
