UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – The three major indexes on Wall Street fell on Friday on technology stocks and investors worried about a jump in US bond yields.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> ended down 201.95 points, or 0.82 percent, at 24,462.94. The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 Index <.SPX> was down 22.99 points, or 0.85 percent, to end unofficially at 2,670.14.
The Nasdaq Composite Index closed down 91.93 points, or 1.27 percent, at 7146.13.
But the three indexes ended the week on gains with the Nasdaq gaining 0.6 percent, the S & P 500 and Dow Jones 0.4 percent.
