UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — The United States of America will continue to send military and logistical reinforcements to its bases in oil fields in eastern Syria, local sources told Anatolia, on Thursday.
The sources said that an American convoy of one hundred and forty trucks entered Wednesday evening, through the “Al-Walid” border crossing with Iraq, and reached the “Gibsa” fields near the city of Shaddadi, south of Hasaka.
The sources pointed out that the convoy carried four-wheel vehicles and digging and construction machines, and also included closed trucks believed to carry ammunition.
She added that 9 armored vehicles and dozens of American soldiers left on Tuesday from their base near the town of Tel Baidar, northwest of Hasaka, and arrived at the American base in the “Al-Omar” oil field in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.
It is noteworthy that the American forces withdrew from a number of their bases in northeastern Syria, in conjunction with the operation “Spring of Peace” launched by the Turkish army in October of last year.
But the American forces did not reckon from their bases located in the oil fields and its environs.
In November of last year, the US Department of Defense, “The Pentagon”, announced in a statement, sending more troops and reinforcements to protect oil wells in eastern Syria.
