Washington is imposing new sanctions on Venezuela

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – The US Treasury Department announced on Friday the imposition of a new package of sanctions against Venezuela targeting four Venezuelan citizens and three companies associated with one of them.

A statement issued by the Department of Foreign Assets Control of the Treasury Department said the four targeted persons were Diosdado Cabello Rondón, Jose David Cabello Rondón, Marlene Josefina Contreras Hernández and Rafael Alfredo Saria Díaz.

Companies listed on the US blacklist are Corp 11420, Noor Plantation Investments, and Sai Advisors, which are related to Alfredo Saria, based in Boca Raton, Florida.

The statement said the new sanctions were imposed as part of the crackdown on Caracas because of its practice of what the United States considers to be political repression in Venezuela.
