Where does Syria’s chemical arsenal come from if the US, France and the UK have destroyed it?

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) –¬†According to Sergei Lavrov, Moscow has questions about the origin of chemical weapons that the Syrian government is preparing to use, at least according to Washington’s statements.

The head of the Russian diplomacy said that the United States claim to have destroyed everything last year.

With the United States escalating tensions around Idlib, Moscow wonders where Damascus was able to obtain chemical weapons if Washington and Paris destroyed them all, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a conference joint press with his Saudi counterpart Adel al-Joubeir.

“When Americans begin to escalate tensions around Idlib by threatening the [Syrian’s] punishment government if it uses chemical weapons, we ask,” Where would he get chemical weapons if you, “he said. together with the British and the French, destroyed everything last year?” he said.

Previously, the Russian Defense had announced that the United States, together with France and the United Kingdom, was planning a bombing in Syria on the grounds of Damascus’s use of chemical weapons.

As stated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, for this purpose the destroyer USS The Sullivans of the US Navy, with 56 cruise missiles on board, has recently arrived in the Persian Gulf. A US Air Force B-1B strategic bomber with 24 AGM-158 JASSM air-to-ground cruise missiles was also positioned at Qatar’s Al-Udeid Air Base, the Defense said.

After negotiations between US President John Bolton’s National Security Advisor and Russia’s Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev on Aug. 23, Bloomberg, citing four unnamed sources, reported that Mr. Bolton had told Patrushev that the US was “ready to hit Syrian government forces if they used chemical weapons against the opposition.”

According to Bloomberg, the US has information that Bashar al-Assad’s government is preparing to use chemical weapons against opposition fighters in Idlib. The anonymous sources of the agency do not however specify where Washington keeps this information.
