Why is Turkey’s military operating in Syria?

UNITED STATES, WASHINGTON (OBSERVATORY VIDEO) — Turkey ended its Euphrates Shield Operation in northern Syria on May 30, 2017.

It was launched on August 24, 2016, after a series of terror attacks threaten the country’s national security.

The aim was to push Daesh away from its border and stop the advance of the PKK and its affiliate, the YPG.
