UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY) – The latest results of the Wall St Journal survey conducted among 60 economists showed that 98% of respondents expect a rate increase at the June meeting of the US Federal Reserve System.
The average probability of such a scenario is 85%.
76% of respondents see the next increase in Fed rates at a meeting in September. The average probability of such an outcome of events is tied to 64%.
19% of respondents say that the Fed will raise rates in December instead of September for the third rate increase this year.
According to the WSJ survey, three more Fed rate hikes are still far from reality and the question is whether the market believes that the Fed can raise rates four times without causing concern about the yield curve.
