Wuhan: 195 people re-contracted COVID-19

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — This was reported by the State Committee on Hygiene and Health of China. The agency’s message did not specify what repeated infections could have caused in people who had already recovered. All 195 cases identified were recorded in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak of coronavirus.

The head of the coronavirus medical team, Professor Zhao Jianping, notes that the re-fixation of COVID-19 may be due to imperfect tests, possible laboratory errors and specifics of the body of specific patients. However, he could not say for sure whether it was a relapse or re-infection.

Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus noted that the world community should “focus on containing coronavirus and at the same time do everything possible to prepare for a potential pandemic.”

In recent days, the new coronavirus is actively spreading outside of China. In South Korea, 977 cases of the disease have already been recorded, and in Iran 15 people have died from COVID-19.

In Europe, the peak of infections occurred in Italy – about 270 people fell ill, of which seven died; emergency measures are being introduced in the country – 11 cities are quarantined, more than 50,000 are ordered not to leave home.

Because of the coronavirus, the Venetian carnival was closed ahead of time , and the Giorgio Armani collection was shown at Milan Fashion Week with an empty hall – in order to avoid new infections, guests were asked not to come.

According to the latest data , the total number of infected is 80,289, of which 2,704 died, and 27,840 recovered and were discharged from medical facilities.
