Yemen: Scores of dead and wounded in fierce battles near the Saudi border

UNITED STATES (OBSERVATORY NEWS) — Dozens of people have been killed and wounded in fierce battles between Houthis and government forces backed by the Arab alliance in the border areas with Saudi Arabia, media and military sources said.

The Houthis launched a large-scale offensive in the districts of Al-Zahir and Hiran in the governorates of Hajjah and Saada borders with the regions of Najran, Asir and Jizan from the Saudi side, killing and wounding about 100 soldiers of government forces and their allies.

The Houthis talked about the capture of dozens of coalition soldiers, including Sudanese soldiers, during the attack, which the government forces thwarted with the support of warplanes of the coalition led by Saudi Arabia.
