RUSSIA (OBSERVATORY) – The Russian Foreign Ministry intends not to ignore the investigation into the case of the poisoning in Britain of former Colonel GRU Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia, since Moscow has something to inform the public about this incident.
This was stated by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova on Sunday on the air of the program “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Soloviev” on the TV channel Russia 1.
“British journalists fell silent one day, as if, let’s speak openly, came the order to silence all.” They all became silent: no more in the British media, the case of the Violinists in general is not interesting, no one is looking for, no one is conducting any investigations, no one is demanding from the British side of the photos, or video of the victims, we are told, of the victims. <…> There is no such thing in the information space. Undoubtedly, the Russian Federation, the Russian embassy in the UK and the Foreign Ministry will be glad with the news from the front – we have what tell” – said Zakharova.
On March 4, 66-year-old former GRU colonel Sergei Skripal, convicted in Russia for espionage in favor of Britain, and his 33-year-old daughter Julia were exposed in Salisbury, according to the British side, to the effects of a nerve agent.
Later, London issued a statement that this substance was allegedly being developed in Russia, and on this basis accused Moscow of involvement in the incident. The Russian side categorically rejected all speculation on this score.
The victims have already left the coma – Sergei Skripal, according to Salisbury Hospital information, continues to be in the hospital, his condition improves, while his daughter was discharged and restored in an unnamed place.
