TURKEY (OBSERVATORY) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that Turkey needs Russian missile defense systems “S-400”, adding that his country will receive these systems soon.
The Turkish president said in a speech at the graduation ceremony of a new batch of officers, in which he stressed that his country also needs the F-35 “American” and will continue to pay premiums from the United States, but will buy fighter jets from other sources if Washington stopped delivery of fighters.
He also criticized the Turkish president, the escalation of standards in the fight against terrorism when it comes to Turkey, pointing out that the lawsuits against Turkey in the United States, and the decisions against them is unparalleled in any other country.
On the decline of the Turkish currency in the markets, Erdogan said that exchange rate fluctuations are a process directed against Turkey, pointing out that those who failed to achieve their goals by terrorist organizations, today resort to the weapon of the economy.
He added that Turkey had no problem to justify the terrorist attacks against it, and that attempts to form a picture warranted that the Turkish economy was in crisis.
Washington has repeatedly confirmed its intention to prevent its allies from signing deals to buy the S-400 systems, threatening sanctions.
Turkey, the second country after China, which has agreed with Russia to provide them with these effective missiles.
